This a photograph of a Meadow Foxtail flower. The Meadow Foxtail is a perennial plant of the grass family Poaceae. Native to Europe and Asia, it was introduced into the United States and southern Canada as a pasture grass for cattle. Habitats include fields, roadsides, and the margins of seasonal wetlands where there is little flooding.
