Stock Photo of American Bittersweet Seeds
Celastrus scandens, commonly called American Bittersweet or Bittersweet, is a species of staff vines that blooms mostly in June and is commonly found in rich, well-drained soils of woodlands. During the fall season, bittersweet vines put on a display few other plants can rival, as the skin of their pea sized berries bursts to reveal an red-orange colored seed within.
