Stock Photo of Golden Shocks of Grain
This photograph shows the old fashioned way of harvesting grain. Individual stalks of grain are cut and tied into Sheaves. Seven to twelve sheaves are stood up forming a Shock. The Shocks are left in the field for several weeks to dry and cure. Eventually the grain is havested after it is dried and cured in the field. These Shock filled grain fields mark Amish farms across the mid-west in the United States giving almost an old world feel to the middle of summer.
