Starting on April 13th,Songkran is the celebtation of the Thai lunar new year. A time when, in the wats, images of Buddha are bathed. Some images are paraded allowing citizens to throw water on the images, thus gaining merit. The festival continues for three days and become what some consider the largest water fight in the world.
