Several pretty blossoms of Texas Groundsel. One of the blossoms has a light colored Crab Spider clearly visible on it. Texas Groundsel is a member of the Sunflower Family (Asteraceae). It is in the genus Senecio which is one of the largest genera of flowering plants. Several species grow in Texas and they can be difficult to identify. The yellow petals are the ray flower and the center forms the disk flower.
