Pax gate in Diksmuide
Peace monument built on the ruins of the tallest peace monument on WWI battlefield. The previous monument was dynamited in 1946 by Belgian terrorists. Today the Pax Gate is a reflection-inducing monument built as a crypt holding the graves of several Flemish WWI soldiers. It is a testament to the cruelty of war, and exposes the discrimination of Flemish Dutch speaking soldiers by their Belgian French speaking Officers.
