This interesting clump of red barked palm tree bases caught my eye because of the unusual arrangement, the outstanding trunk color and the maturity of the trees. They looked about 45 years old. Mexican fan palm trees are as common as dirt in San Diego but this is one setup I haven't seen in 36 years here. The location is Old Town, San Diego, a choice tourist destination. Old Town is a prime tourist location with lots to see and do - it is bright, interesting and offers a large helping of Mexican
